I received this swing as a gift. After putting it together, I realized that the tray was entirely in the way and was totally unnecessary for my 2-week old daughter so removed the piece. I'd recommend not placing the tray onto the swing until you actually need it, otherwise it's rather difficult to place the baby in or take out of the swing. The only reason I don't give a 5-star for the product because I think it's way too big for a newborn or little baby. It does take me a few minutes to adjust everything around her and if she's already crying, it's hard to calm her in the swing.
