Review of Skip Hop Saddle Bag

I LOVE this bag so much, I have two: the Uptown Stripe and the Pink Camo bags. Both prints are great looking and very durable - I've dished out tons of abuse! They are really easy to clean too. Just wipe with a damp cloth or use a Tide pen for any stubborn stains.

This has been my bag of choice since Serenity has been 14 months old when I realized I DIDN'T need a large diaper bag for a day of shopping and visiting. ONLY when I'm gone ALL DAY - from early morning to late evening, do I pack my larger Skip Hop Duo bag. Besides, I LOVE how this bag attaches to the shopping buggy and my stroller. Makes everything right there within reach! And you wouldn't believe how much this small bag can hold. It just takes a little re-arranging and buying smaller items.

In the pocket on the front flap I have:

A Tide pen, Kids Afterbite, Neosporin Neo To Go Spray, Water Babies sunblock 30 SPF stick, Splenda minis, Burt's Bees lip balm, two Off! towelettes, three Neat Solutions disposable table toppers, four Crystal Light On The Go packs, & two Kool-Aid singles.

Attached to the Velcro straps in the back I have a rolled chalk mat I made so Serenity can doodle while she's in the shopping buggy or her stroller. A chalk mat is very easy to sew, or you can buy one here at Amazon or at Ebay.

In the mesh pocket on the side I put a sippy (or straw) cup, of course!

In one of the interior pockets I have:

A Germ-X Handi-Pen, three size 4 Huggies diapers, a quart sized zip lock bag of baby wipes, a sample size bottle of baby powder, and a few coupons.

In the second interior pocket I have:

A sample size bottle of Johnson's Melt Away Stress lotion, small pack of Kleenex, a full Crayola snack packer (cookies, Goldfish, etc.), a Crayola Color Wonder mini tablet and two color wonder markers (or sometimes the soft sticks), a small bottle of Advil, a Kipiis bib clip, a pacifier, sunglasses, cell phone, keys and my wallet.

Serenity likes to carry a purse now, so any other little toys she might want to play with I put in there.

After all that, I STILL have little room in my bag; just in case I need to add a few more small items!

After wasting money on 3 other gates and hours of research...we are safe! We purchased the package of 2, one for the livingroom and one for our Houdini toddlers' room. Though this gate was wide enough to accommodate our 4' wide stairway, it was so flimsy that my husband had to reinforce it at the bottom with a piece of 1x2 the length of the gate. If either of my 18 mo. old twins were to fall against it they would have went right through it!

Review of Swingomatic 6 Speed Swing - Windsor

With our first baby we had a travel swing. It worked fine but it didnt swing as fast as we would like since it had such a small motor and we had to bend down a lot to pick her up so close to the ground, which was harder the bigger she got.

Now with our second we decided we would go for a full size swing, and decided on the Windsor. Its a beautiful pattern in sage green with toile. But as I looked at the toile pattern I realized it was boys at the fishing hole, so while it might look girly because of the toile dont shy away from it for a boy.

My husband and I put it together in about 40 minutes.....pretty standard for a piece of baby equipment. We did struggle a bit with the fabric fitting but it did fit....snuggly. And really you want things on baby products to fit snuggly.

Ive had no problems with the mobile as other posters have said. I also know that unless you are missing parts when you put together baby items 99% of the problems are user problems. Trust me, Ive had my share of "why wont this work?!" and then realized "Ooooh, it's silly me!".

Beautiful swing, great movement for all ages of babies and a true necessity from the first day home. You will be able to use this swing for several babies. Dont hesitate, you and your baby will love it!

Review of UPPAbaby G-Luxe Stroller

When looking for an umbrella stroller that I could use on public transportation here in the city and for running quick errands, it came down to the G-Luxe or the Maclarens (Triumph and Quest). I test drove them all in the store and went with the G-Luxe, because: 1) it stands on its own when folded, which is really handy when waiting for a train or bus, plus it takes up less storage space in the apartment that way; 2) it's better designed for taller people (both in terms of handle height and feet not kicking the back when you walk); 3) it has a cup holder; 4) the recline adjusts to any position (Maclaren has a few fixed positions, and the Triumph doesn't recline as far); 5) sun coverage seemed a little better; 6) it's cheaper. All the strollers were about equal in terms of having great maneuverability, and all have small but relatively functional storage baskets. The fold and unfold process is basically the same, too, all three strollers. The only thing I liked better about the Maclarens were the color options. (I ended up with the black G-luxe, and it's very sleek and classy, but I did love those muted Maclaren browns, blues, and greens.)I also liked the peek-a-boo window on the Quest, but it's not worth an extrapound and a half of weight.

Final verdict: the Uppababy G-Luxe is a great stroller. It's as light as you can get for a full-featured umbrella, opens and folds easily, turns on a dime, and has great features that many umbrella strollers don't, like a reclining seat, storage basket, a cup holder, and the ability to stand when folded--which is hugely convenient. My baby (3 mos.) is happy and comfortable in it.

I only gave 1 star because the motor died a week after we started using it. The swing is cute and comfortable but what good is it if it doesn't swing! I got the swing for my shower from Target and wished I would have trusted the negative reviews. The people who had problems w/ it , all said the motor went out and when they exchanged it, the motor went out on the next one too. I wouldnt buy this for any one...dont be fooled w/ the appearance!

Pro's: large selection of music; nice multi-incline of seat; lots of swing speeds with timer feature

Con's: Tray extremely difficult to open; nature sounds are terrible (you can't even tell they're naturistic);
mobile is pretty useless (too high and too small);
shoulder harness/strap TOO SHORT - my daughter is 7 mos
old and ~18 lbs and the shoulder strap is already too short. I contacted
Graco and they sent me a replacement seat with the exact same shoulder
straps (i.e TOO short). If your baby is over 17 lbs and 26" long, then
he/she will barely be able to be strapped in using the shoulder straps.
Currently trying to get them to send me LONGER shoulder straps.

Review of Fisher Price Cradle N Swing

THis swing has really been a life-saver for us. I started putting my son in this swing when he was 2 months old. At that time, the motion would calm him down most times. At 3 months, he started noticing the lighted mobile and the revolving fish on the mobile. The music goes off after the swing has run for some time. A really useful feature, since the baby is asleep by then.
This product requires 4 D type batteries. The batteries would last me an average of a month at a time. I was pretty happy about that. I would buy the duracell brand of batteries, since they last the longest on this swing.

Disadvantages:
(1) Requires a lot of floor space.
(2) The legs, if not placed right, cause the whole piece to swing from side-to-side along with the motion of the swing. It requires some trial and error to figure out the right position for the legs.

All in all, a very good product. I would highly recommend this product.

Review of Step2 Naturally Playful Playhouse Climber and Swing Extension

Most of what I would say has been covered already - I rate it 5 out of 5 stars for comparable toys. Very sturdy construction and looks good in earth tones rather than kiddie colors.

It's a good size up to about age 8 or 9.

One warning: lots of nooks and crannies for wasps to hide in. This would be an issue for any play structure though.

The one trick is getting the slide in when assembling. I have had to put it together a few times (relocating it from basement to backyard, back to basement)

The trick is to NOT have the three burgundy pieces in - you only have the two sides and the deck - you then can squeeze the bottoms of the two big pieces together. If you push so that the two side pieces are parallel, the slide pretty much drops into place. When you release the bottoms, the tops close together and trap the slide.

Another way is to tilt the tower away from the slide - this allows the slide to slip in - you need to tilt it at least 30 degrees from vertical.

This booster was given to me by my mother-in-law for my 13-month old son.I don't care for this one at all.The straps (to hold the seat onto the chair) loosen and they don't stay put.I turned my head to finish preparing his breakfast and he was (still intact in the seat but...) dangling off the front of the chair.The headrest doesn't even stay on seat-it continuously fell off (for the short time we used the seat).I would not recommend this one.

Review of Graco Lovin Hug Swing - Safari Sun

If you need a swing, this is a good one. The classical music selection is nice, and the 6 speeds are good. We used 1-2 for our newborn, then upped it to 4-5 as he got older. The recline is also very nice and easy to use.

It doesn't pack away very well; it does collapse, but still takes up a lot of room when collapsed. Also, it does seem to go through batteries (3 Cs) somewhat quickly.

For a lot of babies, a swing is a must-have, and if you think that is your baby, then this one is great. It comes in lots of different color patterns. My baby just was not all that into the swing, except for a2-3 week phase where it was the only place he would fall asleep besides on our shoulders. I guess for those 2-3 weeks, it was well worth it :)

We bought this swing for our second child. My first child, a 4 year old, helped me put it together (with lots of supervision); and it was not hard to put together at all. The instructions were clear, and even the 4 year old figured out how to use it (not actually swing in it, but flip the switches, etc...) The baby loves it, and we are glad to have found it. Review of Graco Swing 1750857 Silhouett Sachi

I got this swing for my baby shower in November, and it has yet to work. We've had to order three replacement parts because the swing did not work - would not go up and down. Additionally, the music feature did not work at all. I am so sad that this swing didn't work. I'm due next week and still don't have this up and running. It's been a huge pain in the butt calling Graco and then hopefully waiting for new parts to work. Over and over again they are sending us parts that do not work. It's really upsetting. I would NOT recommend this product at all. Save yourself the headache we are dealing with now.

First of all, the swing only holds up to 20 lbs which it doesn't say in the product description.It was easy to assemble and I loved how it looked.However, the seat did not stay reclined (barely reclined at all for that matter) and speeds weren't that impressive.My daughter shifted in the seat and it folded up in half and she was hanging halfway out of the swing (she was strapped in).I'm glad I was right there since her arm could have been caught between the seat and the support legs as it was swinging.I definately don't feel comfortable putting her in it again.Perhaps it was defective but it didn't feel that way. I don't normally return items and I very rarely write reviews, so I hope this helps someone.

I received this swing mid July as a gift and today it just died on me. While it was working it was wonderful, my son loved it! Gradually over time the swing motor was having a harder and harder time going and today it just quit swinging. Everything else on it still works. My son doesn't weigh more than 13 lbs! I liked this swing because you can plug it in, the mobile is nice and I like that you can turn the swing in three different directions. I don't like how it lasted less than 3 months and, in my case, I am unable to return it for a new one.

This is a great swing! It's perfect for using inside the house. My sons use it everyday. We bought it for my youngest son who uses swinging as a therapy for his sensory issues, but my older two sons like to swing on it too. I've even used it a few times. This is a very high quality swing and has easily withstood the abuse that 3 boys can dish out. The seat is much more comfortable than a regular plastic outside belt swing. It is also weighted a bit and seems more comfortable. And not to mention the wings are just too cool! My son pretends that he is a bat while he is swinging. I would buy it again and again.

i think every parent should have a swing in the house.I swing with our baby on my lap in this swing every day.My 5-year-old loves it as well.Although it holds up to 200lbs. it took a good six months before we broke in the seat so it was more comfortable for an adult to sit in.the bucket part of the seat is short enough to be very comfortable for a child but a bit too short for the legs of an adult.most people buy this for their children, but I really intended on using it myself and it has been wonderful!We bought a larger screw attachment for our ceiling at lowes for about $1.50 just for that added security.

Review of Summer Infant Cuddle Me Musical Swing

I purchased this swing with my husband and mother-in-law. We were taken by how cute it was in the store, and cute it is! The elephants are cute. The womb sounds are cute. The swing is blessedly quiet. It has everything going for it, and then you try to put a baby in it. The 'pod' portion of this swing is completely ill-designed! If the swing is tipped downward, the baby looks like he will fall out, except for the harness! If it is tipped upward, so that the baby can look directly up at the elephants, the poor child's head is uncomfortably pushed cockeyed. It is a shame, because everything else about this swing works. My handy husband even thought he would try to fix the seat portion by rigging up something else. Alas, I'm thinking we need to buy an entirely new swing. I just don't want to tell my mother in law because she thinks it so cute.

Review of North States Stairway Swing Wood Gate - Hardware Mount

We purchased 2 of these gates for the bottom and top of our stairs.This gate is flimsy and cheap.The locking mechanism aligns with an eye clip, and you have to ensure both the bottom metal hook sits into the eye clip while at the same time squeezing the top lock to open it then grasp around the top eye clip!Not an easy thing to do...it also does NOT secure the width of the gate, it has an open sliding design so if you over-slide it you're jamming the metal gate locks into the wall.My [...]was not able to squeeze the lock, and I also had a difficult time.I would NOT reccomend this gate, it's too chintzy and difficult for day to day life.

Review of Cosco Beginnings Gentle Motion Swing Circle Safari

I guess we're in the minority here, but our child has loved this swing! The loud motor sound that people are talking about could be attributed to the fact that the motor is supposed to simulate womb sounds, very relaxing and engaging for my child's attention. This swing also seems to hold quite a bit of weight..... my friend's 5 year old child sat down in it when I wasnt looking and was able to hold him. When you use this swing, be sure to spread out the legs completely, otherwise the motor will stall and not rock correctly (sometimes creating a stand-still). Some added toys would be nice, otherwise, we love it!

Review of Joovy Room2 Portable Play Yard

This thing rocks! My Mom has always said, "When you were a baby, we put you in a playpen and it was great." Oooooh that is why I turned out so awesome. I wish we would have gotten this with my first kid (instead of third). So convenient - especially for the crawling baby. Especially if I even want to take a shower before 8pm. I know I can put her in the crib or pack n play (although they are smaller), but those guys are for sleeping and I don't want to mess with that.Can't wait to take this bad boy camping next weekend!
P.S. My husband is a total maven (hard core researcher). He looked at all the possibilities and found this to be the best.
